## Mañas rescues a point

Deportivo Alavés salvaged a 1-1 home draw against Málaga in Friday’s Matchday 10 fixture. Substitute Aitor Mañas finished from close range in the 89th minute to level a contest Málaga had led since just before halftime. LALIGA’s official match record and Sky Sports both confirmed the final score and scorers. Málaga went ahead in the 44th minute when Adrián Niño struck left-footed from the center of the area, with Ramón Enríquez supplying the assist. The goal stood after a video review, and the visitors carried the advantage into halftime. Alavés finished with 18 shots to Málaga’s seven, while possession was close to even. ## Late pressure changes the result

Alavés increased the pressure after the break. Mañas entered in the 75th minute for Antonio Blanco; Lucas Boyé hit the post six minutes later, and Toni Martínez forced a save with a header before Mañas converted. The official timeline also records several late Alavés corners and blocked attempts. [1](https://www.laliga.com/es-MX/partido/temporada-2026-2027-laliga-ea-sports-deportivo-alaves-malaga-cf-10)

The hosts continued attacking in stoppage time, but neither side found a winner. The result therefore stands as a point rescued by Alavés rather than a Málaga away victory: Niño’s finish put the visitors in position to take all three before Mañas changed the outcome from the bench. The draw leaves both teams with mixed feelings. Málaga protected a narrow lead for most of the second half and came close to an away win, while Alavés can point to the volume of late chances and the impact of its substitutions. The official record lists the fixture as final, so no score or disciplinary detail remains provisional.
