The team says its internal communications failed, and holders who took the seats they were offered can keep them and the ticket itself for a future game.

## Summary
- The Brewers said on Tuesday they "erred" in coordinating World Series redemptions for Timeless Ticket holders, who had complained of limited seat options.
- Holders who accepted their seats can keep them and also keep the Timeless Ticket for a future season, FOX6 reported.
- The 1,000 tickets were sold in 2015 at $1,000 each and are redeemable for any home game, subject to availability.
- The World Series between the Brewers and Rays opens Friday, October 23, in Milwaukee.

## What the team said

The Milwaukee Brewers acknowledged on Tuesday that they mishandled how World Series seats were assigned to holders of the club's "Timeless Ticket," and said fans who accepted the seats they were offered can keep them. FOX6 Milwaukee reported that the team will also let those holders keep their Timeless Tickets for a game in a future season. Rick Schlesinger, the team's president of business operations, said the club "erred in our internal communications on the logistics of fulfilling the requests," according to FOX6, which also quoted him saying the team did not live up to the spirit of the program. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, in a story carried by Yahoo Sports, reported the statement was first obtained by TMJ4 and included the line "We regret our mistake." FOX6 reported that several hundred holders had indicated before the deadline that they would redeem tickets for a World Series game, and that the team says affected fans will be contacted with an update. The reports do not say how many holders were unhappy with their seats or what the team's remedy costs. Neither outlet gave specific seat sections for the revised arrangement. ## What holders said went wrong

The Brewers sold 1,000 Timeless Tickets at $1,000 each in 2015, TMJ4 and FOX6 reported. The ticket can be redeemed for any future Brewers home game, including a World Series game. The team's information card says it may be redeemed for the best available seat locations, subject to availability at redemption, TMJ4 reported. TMJ4 reported on Monday that Kenosha brothers Kevin and Kyle Deaton, who bought theirs in 2015, were offered only terrace-level seats or standing room, priced at or below what they originally paid. Kyle Deaton said the terrace seats were on level four and "not the best available seat," and that a team representative did not dispute that better seats existed. Kevin Deaton said he expected seats in the first ten rows and turned down the options. TMJ4 said the Brewers had not responded to its request for comment at the time of publication. FOX6 separately reported that holder Danny Fochesato received a form the day before public sales began that restricted him mainly to terrace-level and standing-room choices. He redeemed for four Game 1 seats in the right-field corner and bought three terrace tickets himself for Game 2 for himself, his sister and his father, FOX6 said. In 2018 he had redeemed a Timeless Ticket for a seat behind home plate, the station reported. After the team's statement, he called the fix "a start, but not really any sort of reasonable solution," the Journal Sentinel reported. ## The program and the series

The Brewers' own program page describes the Timeless Ticket as an engraved brass ticket, limited to 1,000 and no longer on sale. Owners redeem one for a future home game through the ticket office and may buy up to three more tickets at regular retail price. It lists October 14 as the day World Series redemption opened and says redemption is subject to ticket availability at the time. The page does not use the phrase "best available." The Brewers host Game 1 of the World Series on Friday, October 23, at American Family Field, according to MLB. The Tampa Bay Rays clinched the American League pennant in Game 6 of the ALCS against Cleveland, ESPN reported, and will face the Brewers. What is not yet known is whether holders who already accepted seats will be offered any upgrade for Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee, or how the team will treat holders who declined the offers, as the Deaton brothers said they did. The team said it would contact affected fans.
