## Coll tops the goalkeeper ranking

Barcelona and Spain goalkeeper Cata Coll won the 2026 Women's Goalkeeper of the Year award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London on Monday, October 26. The organiser's official results placed her first in the five-player field, confirming the outcome of the specialist goalkeeper category rather than the main women's Ballon d'Or. AS reported that Coll won her first Yashin Trophy after making 39 appearances for Barcelona and Spain during the season, conceding 18 goals. [2](https://as.com/futbol/internacional/segundo-kopa-para-vicky-f202610-n/)

Ann-Katrin Berger finished second in the official ranking, followed by Ayaka Yamashita in third. Hannah Hampton was fourth and Lorena fifth. The organiser published the results Monday. TheScore also reported Coll's victory, noting that she succeeded Hampton, the previous season's winner, in the women's goalkeeper honours. The final standings distinguish Monday's result from the nominations announced earlier in the season. ## Recognition after club and international success

Spain's football federation said before the gala that Coll had helped Barcelona win four trophies: the Champions League, Liga, Super Cup and Copa de la Reina. She was also part of Spain's Nations League-winning team. The federation included her among six Spanish internationals nominated for the main women's Ballon d'Or, as well as listing her repeat goalkeeper nomination. Coll credited her teammates and honoured the women who had opened a path for goalkeepers, AS reported. Addressing girls who aspire to play the position, she presented the award as evidence of what they could achieve. [2](https://as.com/futbol/internacional/segundo-kopa-para-vicky-f202610-n/)

## A goalkeeper involved in Barcelona's buildup

An official Ballon d'Or profile published in September described Coll as a key participant in coach Pere Romeu's buildup play from the back. It highlighted her distribution, positioning and composure under pressure alongside her shot-stopping. The profile said she had kept 61 clean sheets across her first 95 Barcelona appearances, a career-to-date figure rather than a single-season total. Born in Pòrtol, Mallorca, Coll made her senior Spain debut during the knockout stages of the 2023 Women's World Cup. She went on to keep a clean sheet in the final, when Spain beat England 1-0. The organiser's profile also records a Barcelona contract extension through 2029, placing Monday's individual honour within an established club and international career. ## An anniversary ceremony in London

This year's gala marks the Ballon d'Or's 70th anniversary. UEFA said London was selected for the first time to honour Stanley Matthews, the English player who won the inaugural award in 1956. France Football presents the awards and has co-organised the ceremony with UEFA since 2024. Coll's goalkeeper prize is one of several distinct honours presented during the evening.
