Summary
- Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers gain access in the Gemini app.
- Google adds Antigravity’s coding interface to its macOS app.
- The earlier model announcement described a phased safety rollout.
Paid app availability
Google expanded access to Gemini 4 Argon in the Gemini app on October 13, saying Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can now use the model and assign tasks. The company’s announcement describes improvements in reasoning and performance on complex work, along with changes intended to make responses more direct and progress updates more useful. [1]
Google also says Antigravity’s agentic coding interface is now available directly in the Gemini macOS app. A toggle between chat and tasks is intended to let the assistant continue work while a user is away from the computer. These are the company’s descriptions of the new interface and intended operation. [1]
The app announcement lists connections to more than 40 apps, naming Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify. Google presents those integrations as ways to handle activities such as shopping, reservations and business work. The release identifies paid subscription access; it does not announce equivalent Argon availability for every free account. [1]
The earlier phased release
In its September 30 model announcement, Google said Argon was initially rolling out to trusted cybersecurity defenders through the Fairwind Program. It described a gradual expansion while gathering feedback and refining safeguards, with broader access for developers, enterprises and consumers to follow. The October app update is a later availability announcement. [2]
That earlier announcement described a one-million-token output limit and applications in software engineering, legal and financial work, and cybersecurity defense. It also listed introductory API pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Those usage-based prices are separate from a consumer app subscription and should not be treated as the subscription cost. [2]
Google’s capability descriptions and internal productivity examples remain company-reported. The releases establish what it announced and where access is being expanded, while independent evaluation of reliability in particular workflows is a separate question. The phased timeline also distinguishes the initial restricted model introduction from today’s paid app access. [2] [1]
