## Finale lands on Wednesday

The sixth season of Slow Horses, Apple TV's espionage drama about a team of discredited MI5 agents, is scheduled to end on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with its sixth and final episode of the season. Apple's own announcement says the six episodes were released one per week from the September 16 premiere through October 21. One preview outlet, The Review Geek, lists the finale as titled "Judgment Day" and says it should appear around 12am Pacific, 3am Eastern, with the exact time depending on when Apple uploads it. Apple's announcement does not give a release time or an episode title, and the time has not been confirmed from an Apple source. No source reviewed describes the content of the finale, and this report does not either. The Signal Edition has not seen the episode. ## What the season is about

Apple describes Season 6 as finding Jackson Lamb and his Slough House team on the run, after Diana Taverner pulls them into what it calls a "fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge." Slough House is the dumping-ground MI5 department at the center of the series. Gary Oldman plays Lamb. Apple's cast list for the season also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving, with BAFTA winner Lenny Rush joining as a new addition. The season adapts Mick Herron's novels Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh books in his Slough House series, according to Apple. Gaby Chiappe adapts the scripts and Adam Randall returns to direct, with See-Saw Films producing for Apple TV, as reported by Televisual. ## Renewals already announced

Apple announced Season 8 on September 15, the day before Season 6 premiered, according to TVLine. The new season is reported to run six episodes and adapt Clown Town, the ninth Herron novel. TVLine reports that the Season 7 renewal came in July 2025. [4](https://tvline.com/2259004/slow-horses-renewed-season-8-apple-tv/)

TVLine quotes Apple TV international creative director Jay Hunt saying the show "continues to charm audiences all around the world." The Review Geek also reports the renewals for Seasons 7 and 8. ## What is not known

Premiere dates for Seasons 7 and 8 had not been found in the sources reviewed. Viewership figures for Season 6 have not been published by Apple in the material checked, and the reason for the rise in searches for the show on Wednesday has not been established beyond the scheduled finale. [1](https://www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2026/06/apple-tv-unveils-first-look-at-season-six-of-emmy-and-bafta-award-winning-espionage-drama-slow-horses-starring-academy-award-winner-sir-gary-oldman/) [4](https://tvline.com/2259004/slow-horses-renewed-season-8-apple-tv/)

Past seasons have each run six weekly episodes, and the Season 6 finale closes out the story drawn from the two Herron novels. Season 7 is next in the production pipeline.
