High Potential actor Matthew Lamb, 14, says his mother died on Oct. 17

Matthew Lamb, the 14-year-old actor who plays Elliot Radovic on ABC's crime drama High Potential, said in an Instagram post that his mother, Meredith, died on Saturday, Oct. 17, Entertainment Weekly and Bleeding Cool reported on Tuesday. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

In the post, Lamb described his mother as the most selfless person he knew and said she "was everything to me," according to EntertainmentNow. He wrote that he would miss telling her about his day and watching their favorite shows together, and he signed off by telling her he loved her. ^{[3] [1]}

Lamb wrote that the loss "still doesn't feel real," Bleeding Cool reported, adding that he was not sure it ever would. The post included family photos from his childhood. ^{[2] [1]}

Support from the cast

Kaitlin Olson, who plays the mother of Lamb's character on High Potential, responded in the comments. "Your mama was such a gift, Matthew," she wrote, according to Entertainment Weekly, and told him he would always be his mother's pride and joy and that she would be there for him. ^[1]

Tribute from a Broadway training group

The Broadway Artists Alliance, a performing arts training organization, said Lamb's mother had served as its parent liaison for six years and had championed its students, staff and families, EntertainmentNow reported. The group said it is working with the family to set up scholarships in her name. ^[3]

Lamb's career

Lamb made his television debut in 2022 playing a younger version of Steve Martin's character on Only Murders in the Building, according to Entertainment Weekly. He has also appeared in the films Smile and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. ^[1]
