How the series was decided
Maaz Sadaqat made 96 and captain Sahibzada Farhan 73 in Pakistan’s 215-3. Both benefited from dropped catches, AP reported. Mohammad Imran took three wickets for 11 runs in four overs as Sri Lanka managed 133-7. [1]
Sri Lanka slipped to 49-4 in the eighth over. Maheesh Theekshana finished unbeaten on 32 and Chamindu Wickramasinghe made 29. The defeat followed earlier away-series losses in the West Indies and England, leaving the visitors with another unsuccessful T20 series abroad. [1]
A new captain’s home series
The Pakistan Cricket Board’s October 8 announcement identified this as Farhan’s first home T20 international series as captain. It scheduled matches on October 9, 11 and 13 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, all starting at 6 p.m. Pakistan time. The third game is the remaining fixture in that schedule, rather than a decider for the series. The scheduled start corresponds to 9 a.m. Eastern for US viewers. [2]
The PCB also announced coverage through its Live app in regions including North America, alongside PTV Sports in Pakistan. Its pre-series squad announcement included two uncapped players, Razaullah and Muhammad Imran Randhawa, reflecting opportunities for less-established players within the selected group. [2]
What follows
AP says England joins the two teams for an ODI tri-series beginning October 18. The remaining T20 is a separate contest after Pakistan secured the series, before the teams move to the longer one-day format. [1]
