  • Picklr Inc. filed for Chapter 11 in the Northern District of Texas.
  • The proposed financing remains subject to court approval.
  • The corporate case is distinct from an earlier Florida franchisee case.

The Picklr’s corporate parent has entered Chapter 11 while the company says clubs operate normally. An October 10 statement announced a $4.5 million financing commitment led by a franchisee, subject to court approval, according to the International Association of Pickleball and Padel Facilities. Financing and lease obligations

The Dink’s October 12 report identifies the proposed financier as Dynamus Alliance, led by existing investor and franchisee Tom Neale. It says the financing and operating cash are intended to support restructuring. The commitment does not establish that a court has approved the funding or that the reorganization plan is complete. [2]

The company links its financial obligations to rapid expansion and guarantees of leases associated with individual franchise locations, The Dink reports. It says the parent intends to reorganize debts and contractual commitments under court supervision. The report also says the company requested permission to keep paying employees and vendors during the process. [2]

Different entities, different cases

IAPPF reports an October 9 corporate petition in the Northern District of Texas. It distinguishes that case from a September 24 filing by 3 Strand Holdings and related entities in Florida, associated with clubs including Westbrook, Burlington, Danvers, Exton and Newark. [1]

What members can take from the announcement

The Dink reports that The Picklr says no clubs are closing directly because of the filing, while also noting that continued operations do not guarantee every location will remain open indefinitely. Its report says founder Jorge Barragan expects some network contraction over the following 18 to 24 months. [2]

IAPPF emphasizes that many clubs are separately owned businesses with their own leases, debts and costs. A corporate restructuring does not automatically close an independent location. Members’ local arrangements depend on the operator’s circumstances while the broader brand works through court proceedings. [1]
